Cricketer Sunny indicted in dowry case
Dhaka: A Dhaka court on Sunday framed charges against national team cricketer Arafat Sunny in a dowry case filed by Nasrin Sultana, who claimed to be Sunny's wife.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Jakir Hossain passed the order and also issued a warrant for the arrest of Sunny canceling his bail.
Besides, the court fixed September 24 for starting trial in the case.
Earlier, the court fixed today for charge framing hearing.
However, Sunny could not appear before the court as he has been suffering from Chikunguniya, said his lawyer Jewel Ahmmed.
On April 5, the court granted ad-interim bail to the cricketer.
Nasrin Sultana filed the case against Sunny and his mother with the court on charge of demanding Tk 20 lakh as dowry on January 23.
