Quader accuses Khaleda Zia of plotting against PM in London
Barisal: Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader on Thursday alleged that BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia along with her son Tarique Rahman has been hatching a conspiracy against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina staying in London in the name of treatment.
He came up with the allegation while addressing as the chief guest a member collection and renewal programme of Awami League in the city.
Talking about BNP's recent activities, Quader, also Road Transport and Bridges Minister, said it has no work but to cry and lodge complaints. "Every day, they announce to launch a strong movement. Days, months and years have gone by but their movement is yet to start," he said.
About BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir's Thursday's tour to Barisal, he said Fakhrul fled Barisal without attending the scheduled programme following infighting. "People have nothing to know about a party whose leaders and activists locked in a clash in the presence its secretary general," he added.
Quader also urged the Awami League leaders and activists to work hard to bring the party to power again to protect the country's independence and democracy, and ensure development.
