2 including DB man sustain bullet injuries in Dhaka
Dhaka: Two people, including a detective, sustained bullet injuries during an encounter between police and miscreants at Jurain in the city on Saturday evening.
Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (Media) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP), said an eight-member team of Detective Branch carried out a drive at Jurain around 7:30 pm.
Sensing the presence of the law enforcers, the gangsters opened fire at them when DB assistant commissioner Rahul Patwari, 30, and one M Billal Hossain Mridul, 24, sustained bullet injuries, Masudur added.
It is speculated that Mridul might have been working as a police informer.
Later, they were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), said sub-inspector Bacchu Miah of DMCH Police Camp.
