Cabinet approves National Cadet Core Law

Dhaka: The cabinet on Monday approved in principle the draft of Bangladesh National Cadet Corps (BNCC) Law aimed at bringing the existing BNCC under a legal framework and establishing a separate department in this regard.

The approval was given at the regular cabinet meeting held at Bangladesh Secretariat with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair, reports local news agency.

After the meeting, Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam told the reporters the cabinet also endorsed a proposal for signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in the field of tourism between Bangladesh and Thailand.

The cabinet secretary said the cabinet was also apprised of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s official visit to the Netherlands on 3-5 November last.

Besides, the visits of a Bangladesh delegation led by the expatriates welfare and overseas employment minister to Thailand on November 17-20 and Australia on 21-30 November as well as the recognition of Bangladesh’s floating farming system as the ‘Globally Agriculture Heritage System’ by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) were informed of the meeting.

Ministers, state ministers concerned attended the meeting, while secretaries concerned were present.
