BGB sends back 86 Rohingyas from Cox’s Bazar border
Cox’s Bazar: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members sent back around 86 Rohingya migrants while they were trying to enter Bangladesh through several border points of Teknaf and Ukhiya in Cox’s Bazar.
The Rohingyas were pushed back to Myanmar from late Saturday to Sunday morning after they crossed the ‘zero line’ border zone of Cox’s Bazar.
Cox’s Bazar BGB 34 Battalion Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel Manzurul Ahsan said around 71 Rohingya trespassers were detained by Ukhiya police on Saturday evening. Later, they were handed over to BGB. The Rohingyas were sent back to their land after providing them with humanitarian aides.
However, Teknaf BGB-2 Battalion Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel SM Ariful Islam said around 15 Rohingyas, entered Bangladesh through Shahpori’s Island and Domdomia border point, were sent back to Myanmar.
