PM working online, clearing urgent files
Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, now in the United States, is in round-the-clock contact with her office in Dhaka and clearing urgent files online.
‘Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, now in the US capital of Washington, is maintaining round-the-clock contact with her office in Dhaka and giving necessary directives to the officials concerned on different matters,’ PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim told UNB over phone on Tuesday.
He said the Prime Minister digitally cleared 16 urgent files in the last two days - Sunday and Monday—from the US capital.
Ihsanul Karim said the Prime Minister earlier instructed her office to send all the urgent files to her during her stay in the USA.
‘Following the directive, the officials concerned at the Prime Minister’s Office are emailing important files to the Prime Minister, taking advantage of the digitisation initiatives of the present government under her leadership,’ he added.
Sheikh Hasina reached Washington from New York on Friday afternoon after attending the 72nd session of the UNGA.
After staying in Washington for a week, Sheikh Hasina will leave for home on September 29. She will return home on October 2 via London.
Sheikh Hasina arrived in New York on September 17 to join the 72nd UNGA session.
