Biman employee arrested with gold
Dhaka: Customs Intelligence officials arrested an employee of Biman Bangladesh Airlines and a passenger along with 1.2 kilograms gold at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital early Saturday.
The arrestees are Omar Faruk, a ground service traffic supervisor of Biman, and Kazi Qamrul Islam, a passenger.
Custom officials said Qamrul arrived at the airport by a flight of Biman from Kuala Lumpur at about 4:30am.
A CIID team caught them red handed at the boarding bridge area of the airport while Qamrul was handing over the gold to Faruk.
