PM mourns death of freedom fighter Chullu
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Tuesday expressed deep shock at the death of valiant freedom fighter and a legendary Crack Platoon member of the Liberation War Abul Masud Sadique Chullu.
In a condolence message, the prime minister recalled with profound respect the courageous role of Chullu in the great Liberation War as a member of the Crack Platoon, a special commando team of the Mukti Bahini, reports the BSS.
‘The nation has lost a valiant freedom fighter in the death of Chullu,’ she said, adding his invaluable contribution to the Liberation War will be remembered forever.
Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.
Chullu, the youngest brother of former education minister ASHK Sadique and brother-in-law of State Minister for Public Administration Ismat Ara Sadique, breathed his last at his residence here yesterday afternoon at the age of 74.
As a member of the Crack Platoon, he took part in the bomb attack in the then Hotel Intercontinental in Dhaka during the 1971 Liberation War.
