Internet to go slow in Bangladesh again
Dhaka: Bangladesh will experience slow internet speeds for three to four days starting from tonight as the first submarine cable of Bangladesh SMW-4 will be down for maintenance.
Internet speeds might hence be slow due to the temporary reduction of bandwidth, said the Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) on Monday via press release.
BSCCL said they will replace the second repeater of SMW-4 so all the circuits of Bangladeshi part (portion) will be stopped for three -four days.
It is a temporary measure and the company will try to meet the demand from the second submarine cable SMW-5.
"We are taking initiatives to collect extra bandwidths from SMW-5," said the press release.
They also requested all IGWs, IIGs and others telecom organizations to communicate with BSCCL for taking initiatives to keep up the international circuits in force.
