Former Chittagong mayor Mohiuddin sent to Dhaka

Chittagong: Former Chittagong mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury, also the president of port city unit of Awami League, has been shifted to Dhaka's Square Hospital from a hospital in the port city.
Mohiuddin, who has been suffering from kidney and heart diseases for long, was admitted to Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Max Hospital in the port city as he fell ill on Saturday, said Dr Liakat Ali Khan, managing director of the private hospital.
Later, doctors of the private hospital referred him to Dhaka.
A helicopter carrying the ailing former mayor left the port city from M A Aziz Stadium around 2:50 pm.
Mayor of Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) and also General Secretary of City Awami League A Z M Nasir Uddin and other leaders and activists of the party came to see him off.
