Guerrilla Commander Syed Ahmed dies
Dhaka: Veteran Freedom Fighter (FF) and Guerrilla Commander Maolana Syed Ahmed breathed his last at his Kamalapur residence in the city on Sunday afternoon.
He was 72 and had been suffering long from brain haemorrhage and other old age complicacies.
Maolana Syed Ahmed was an NAP (Muzaffar Ahmed) Guerrilla Commander in Comilla area while the multilinguist scoured the Soviet Union from (1972-19980) for collecting financial aid for the people of the newly-independent Bangladesh.
He was a teacher of Motijheel Model School and College from 1991 to 2015.
His first namaj-e-janaja was held at South Kamalapur Graveyard Mosque.
The second namaj-e-janaja was held at Allahabad High School field in Comilla where people from every walk of life came to pay last tribute to this veteran Guerrilla Commander.
Later he was buried in his family graveyard there.
Maolana Ahmed left behind his wife, three sons and a host of students and well-wishers to mourn his death.
His eldest son Syed Alauddin Ahmed is an Assistant Teacher of Biology at Shamsul Haq Khan School and College in the city.
