HC upholds death of 2, life term of 6
Dhaka: The High Court on Thursday upheld the death sentence of two people and life term imprisonment of six others awarded by a lower court in college student Kamrul Islam Momin murder case.
The bench of Justice Bhabani Prasad Singha and Justice Mustafa Zaman Islam delivered the verdict.
Another death row convict in the case former officer-in-charge of Motijheel police station Rafiqul Islam died in 2015.
On September 13, 2005, Kamrul Islam Momin, a student of Mirpur Commerce College, was killed in front of his house at North Ibrahimpur in the city following a feud over land demarcation. A case was filed.
Earlier on July 20, 2011, Dhaka’s Speedy Trial Tribunal-4 awarded death sentence to three people, including the late ex-OC, and life term imprisonment to six others in the case.
