Rescue team to be sent to Nepal, says PM
Dhaka: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Monday said Bangladesh will send a helping team to Nepal right after the resumption of operation in Tribhuban Airport to assist the Nepalese team in the rescue operation of the US Bangla Airlines plane crash incident.
‘Bangladesh will extend all sorts of necessary support,’ she said, reports the UNB.
Sheikh Hasina said this while talking to Nepalese Prime MinisterKhadga Prasad Sharma Oli over telephone from Singapore at 7:50pm (local time).
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is now in Singapore on a four-day official visit at the invitation of her Singaporean counterpart Lee Hsien Loong.
While talking to Nepalese counterpart, Sheikh Hasina expressed deep shock at the plane crash, according to a media release issued by the PM's Press Wing.
Sharma Oli informed Hasina that he visited the spot after the crash and gave necessary directives.
At least 50 people died as an aircraft of US-Bangla Airlines from Dhaka to Kathmandu crashed at Tribhuvan International Airport in the capital of the Himalayan country on Monday, said officials.
