Case filed over killing of 2 Garo women in Dhaka
Dhaka: A case has been filed with Gulshan Police Station over the murder of an elderly Garo woman and her daughter in Kalachandpur area of Dhaka.
The deceased are Besat Moni Chiran, in his sixties, and her daughter Sujata Chiran, in his forties. Police recovered their bodies from the 4 floor of a multi-storey building in the area around 11:00pm on Tuesday.
Of them, Sujata was slaughtered and Besnat Moni was strangled, police said.
Officer-in-charge of Gulshan Police Station AB Siddique told UNB that Besat Moni’s husband Ashish Mankin filed the case with the police station around 9am on Wednesday.
However, he did not disclose the names of the accused made in the case for the sake of investigation.
Police said the murder came to light when Tlester Daring, husband of Sujata’s eldest daughter, went to the flat from his workplace around 7:00pm on Tuesday.
Being informed, police rushed in and recovered the bodies of the mother and her daughter.
The law enforcers also collected the footage from the CCTV camera of the building where they found four youths, including Sanjit, son of Sujata’s sister, entering the flat on Tuesday afternoon.
Police suspected that the youths were involved in the double murder.
