Nepal plane crash victim FF Nazrul laid to rest
Rajshahi: Freedom Fighter Nazrul Islam, who was killed in US-Bangla plane crash in Kathmandu, was buried at Gorhanga graveyard in the city on Friday afternoon.
He was buried with state honour beside the grave of his wife Aktara Begum who was also killed in the plane crash. She was buried on Tuesday, reports the UNB.
Earlier, Nazrul’s second namaz-e-janaza was held at Upashahar central mosque after Juma prayers, said victim’s daughter Kakon.
His body was brought here from his Begunbari village home in Gomaosthapur upazila of Chapainawabganj after his first namaz-e-janaza
Local MP Golam Mostafa Biswas and Gomaosthapur upazila nirbahi officer Shihab Raihan, among others, took part in the janaza that was held around 10am in Chapainawabganj, reports our Chapainawabganj correspondent.
An ambulance carrying the body arrived at his village home around 6:00am.
Earlier, family members received Nazrul’s body from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Thursday afternoon.
At least 49 people, including 26 Bangladeshi nationals, were killed as the US-Bangla Airlines aircraft crashed and burst into flames at Tribhuvan International Airport in the capital of Himalayan county Nepal on March 12.
