Hit by truck, Bogura girl gets hand severed
Bogura: A schoolgirl got her left arm severed after a truck knocked her down at Sherua Battala in Sherpur upazila on Sunday afternoon.
The victim is Sumi Khatun, 7, daughter of Dulal Khan of Kanaigathi in the upazila.
Sub-inspector of Sherpur Police Station M Osmani Goni told UNB that the stone-laden truck hit the girl around 2:30pm while she was crossing the road along with her mother.
In the accident, the schoolgirl’s left arm got severed from the elbow, he said.
Locals first took her to Sherpur Upazila Health Complex from where she was shifted to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital, the SI said, adding that they seized the truck but its driver managed to flee.
