PM leaves Kolkata for home
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina leaves Kolkata for home on Saturday night, wrapping up her two-day official visit to West Bengal, India.
A VVIP flight of Bangladesh Biman Airlines carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage took off from Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport around 9:25pm (local time), reports the UNB.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Syed Muazzem Ali saw her off at the airport.
The flight carrying the Prime Minister is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 10:30pm (BST).
During her stay in West Bengal, the Prime Minister together with Narendra Modi inaugurated ‘Bangladesh Bhaban’ at Visva-Bharati University in Santiniketan and held a meeting with Modi at Bangladesh Bhaban.
She earlier attended Visva Bharati Convocation Ceremony as the Guest of Honour.
On Saturday, Hasina received Honorary Degree of Doctor of Literature at Kazi Nazrul University, Asansol.
She also had a meeting with chief minister of West Bengal Mamata Banarjee.
Besides, she visited historic ‘Jorasanko Thakur Bari’, the residence of Biswa Kabi Rabindranath Tagore, and Netaji Museum in Kolkata.
