Language hero Abdul Jalil passes away
Cumilla: Language movement hero and journalist Abdul Jalil died at a hospital in Laksam upazila on Thursday. He was 90.
Abdul Jalil, also publisher and editor of ‘Saptahik Laksam’ suffered a heart attack at his residence at Chandona village in the upazila on January 13 and he was admitted to a private hospital where he breathed his last at noon, said family sources, reports the UNB.
His first namaj-e-janaza will be held at Uttar Bazar Jam-e-mosque after magrib prayers and he will be buried at his family graveyard after second namaj-e-janaza at Uttarda High School field.
He joined the language movement in 1952 when he was a 1st year student of Laksam Nawab Faizunnesa College.
