Jubo League man shot in Jashore
Jashore: A local leader of Jubo League was wounded in an alleged gunfight at Shastitalapara in the district town on early Monday, reports the UNB.
The man was identified as Mehbub Rahman Mansel, 30, joint convener of Jubo League’s Jashore district town unit.
Apurba Hasan, officer-in-charge of Jashore Kotwali Police Station, said a police team went to the spot around 2:30am after receiving reports about two groups exchanging gunfire.
“We found Mansel lying there with bullet wounds,” he said.
Police also recovered three foreign made pistols and 12 bullets from the spot.
The Jubo League leader was taken to Jashore General Hospital. Abdur Rauf, orthopedic surgeon of the hospital, said Mansel sustained bullet injury to his left leg.
OC Apurba said it was not immediately clear who were involved in the gunfight.
