Obaidul Quader recuperating, to be moved to cabin next week: Physician
Road, Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Qauder’ is now doing well after open heart surgery at Mount Elizabeth Hospital in Singapore and expected to be shifted to a cabin next week.
Quoting medical board members treating Quader, Prof Dr Abu Nasar Rizvi of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) said this on Thursday, reports the UNB.
‘He’s now at ICU (Intensive Care Unit). Doctors hope if the improvement continues, he’ll be shifted to a cabin in the middle of next week.’
Obaidul Quader, also General Secretary of Bangladesh Awami League (AL), underwent a successful bypass surgery at the hospital on Wednesday.
Quader was admitted to BSMMU on March 3 following breathing complications and tests revealed three blockages in his coronary arteries.
He was flown to Singapore the next day for treatment at the Mount Elizabeth Hospital.
