BGB man on polls duty dies following cardiac arrest
Jashore: A Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) official died after suffering a cardiac arrest while performing upazila election duty in Bagherpara Upazila on Saturday night.
The deceased was identified as Nayeb Subedar Rafiqul Islam, 56, of BGB-49 battalion, reports the UNB.
Lt Col Selim Reza, commanding officer BGB-49 battalion, said that a BGB team of the battalion went to the auditorium of upazila parishad in the afternoon for performing duty.
Team member Rafiqul complained of chest pain around 10pm.
He was taken to Bagherpara Health Complex where doctors pronounced him dead.
