Former lawmaker Hasina Ahmed, wife of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed, on Thursday filed a writ with High Court seeking its directives to present the BNP leader before the court within 24 hours.

Barrister Ragib Rauf Chowdhury told NTV Online the hearing might be conducted on this writ on the afternoon by Supreme Court Lawyers Association and senior lawyer, Advocate Khandakar Mahbub Hossain.

The writ was filed against home ministry secretary, police inspector general and concerned persons.

Earlier Hasina Ahmed said the journalists Uttara police refused to file a general diary after her husband went missing.

BNP standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan in a statement claimed that plain-clothes police picked up BNP-led 20-Party Alliance spokesperson Salahuddin Ahmed from his Uttara residence at about 10:30pm on Wednesday.
However, metropolitan police deputy commissioner Masudur Rahman said police did not detain Salah Uddin.
