Dhaka-Ctg rail link restored after 7 hrs
Feni: The train service of Chittagong with Dhaka resumed after seven hours of suspension following derailment of a freight train in Feni sadar upazila on Thursday.
Earlier, the engine of a Dhaka-bound container-laden train from Chittagong veered off the track at about 2:45am after crashing into a truck that remained stuck at Fatehpur level crossing getting out of order, halting train movement on the Dhaka-Chittagong route, reports UNB.
However, the train communication was restored at about 10:15 am after two salvage trains from Laksham and Chittagong salvaged the engine.
Besides, traffic on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway which also faced a gridlock following the accident came back to normal with the salvage of the derailed engine and truck.
