ACC approves charge-sheets against ex-MP Jabbar, son
Dhaka: The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has approved charge-sheets in two cases filed against former Jatiya Party MP MA Jabbar and his son Mahbub Hossain for allegedly acquiring illegal wealth.
The Commission at a recent meeting approved proposals for submitting charge-sheets against them, ACC public relations officer Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya said.
On 13 October, 2014, ACC assistant director Masudur Rahman filed two cases against Jabbar and his son Mahbub for allegedly acquiring illegal wealth.
According to the case statements, Jabbar accumulated illegal wealth worth Tk 1.73 crore while his son earned wealth of Tk 19.5 lakh from unknown sources.
In February 2014, the ACC initiated a probe against Abdul Jabbar (former MP of Satkhira-2) along with six other ruling party politicians for allegedly accumulating unusual wealth.
