Anti Corruption Commission conducts drive at Bureau of Manpower
The Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) on Wednesday conducted a surprise drive at the Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) in the capital in the wake of allegations of corruption and irregularities at the bureau.
A six-member ACC team, led by its director general Mohammad Monir Chowdhury, conducted the drive at about 12:00 noon, ACC spokesperson Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya told UNB.
During the drive, the ACC team interrogated BMET director general Selim Reza and other officials, and recorded their statements.
Talking to reporters, Monir said and the Commission shows zero tolerance to irregularities at the bureau as manpower export and remittance are the driving forces of the country.
‘If someone at the bureau is found involved in corruption, he or she won’t be spared,’ he warned.
