Hawker stabbed dead in Dhaka market
Dhaka: A hawker was stabbed to death and another injured in an attack allegedly by one of their fellows in Dhaka’s New Market area on Wednesday over a trifling matter.
Police said Khokon Mollah, 30, and Shahabuddin had an altercation while taking lunch at a restaurant around 3:00pm.
At one stage, Shahabuddin hit Khokon and Babul Bepari with a sharp weapon, leaving them critically injured, said Maruf Hossain Sordar, deputy commissioner (Ramna) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police, reports UNB.
Later, they were taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where doctors declared Khokon dead.
Police could not arrest the attacker as he managed to flee the scene.
