Two sisters among four killed in Chakaria
Four people, including two sisters, were killed and seven others injured as a microbus hit a roadside tree at Harbang Goalmara on Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar Highway in Chakaria upazila on Saturday morning.
The deceased are microbus driver Amir Hossain, 35, a resident of Basabo in Dhaka, Ayesha Akter Shilpi, 20, wife of Mohammad Ziku, a resident of Manda upazila in Bogra, and her sister Kulsuma Akter, 25, wife of Asaduzzaman Bappi, a resident of Louhojong upazila in Munshiganj and Golam Kibria, 40, reports UNB.
The accident took place around 8:30am while they were going to Cox’s Bazar from Dhaka, leaving two people dead on the spot and nine others injured, said Assistant Superintendent of police of Chittagong Zone Highway Mohammad Farhad.
The injured were taken to Chakaria upazila health complex where doctors declared two of them dead.
