Couple among 3 burned to death in Old Dhaka
Dhaka: Three people, including a couple, were burned to death in a fire that broke out at a tin-shed house at Islambagh, the old part of capital Dhaka on Saturday.
The deceased were Shamim, 35, his wife Sima, 27, and her paternal cousin Saleha, 38.
Sources at Fire Service Control Room said the fire broke out in the house in Beribadh area of Islambagh at about 4:25pm.
A total of 12 fire-fighting squads rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control after several hours of frantic effort, reports news agency UNB.
Later, they recovered the charred bodies of the three people from the stairs of the house, said M Saiduzzaman, senior special officer of Fire Service in Hazaribagh.
It is still not clear what caused the fire.
