Main accused held over Dinajpur spiritual guide, follower killing
Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) claimed to have arrested the main accused in the case filed over the killing of a self-claimed spiritual guide and his female follower at a shrine in Bochaganj upazila of Dinajpur.
RAB 13 through a text message on Monday morning said the detainee is Shafiqul Islam, in his twenties.
UNB reports, the law enforcers conducted a drive at Joymonirhat Bazar in Kurigran and held Shafiqul , a resident of the village of Doula in Bochaganj upazila.
On 15 March, police arrested three people in connection with the killing from Kurigram and Dinajpur.
Self-claimed spiritual leader Farhad Hossain Chowdhury, of Doula village, and his female follower Rupali Begum, in her twenties, were shot to death and slaughtered by miscreants at a shrine at Hatrampur in Bochaganj upazila of Dinajpur district on 13 March evening.
Slain Farhad was also former president of Setabganj municipality unit of BNP.
