9 human traffickers held, 9 victims rescued in Dhaka
Dhaka: Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in separate raids at different parts of the capital city arrested nine members of an international gang of human traffickers and rescued nine victims while they were being trafficked to Malaysia and Cyprus in the last couple of days.
They also recovered a huge quantity of fake visas, passports and equipment of making those, and ransom money from their possessions, said an official release of RAB.
RAB personnel rescued nine victims from the city’s Bimanbandar areas on March 13 and 22 while they were being trafficked to Malaysia and Cyprus, reports BSS.
They first arrested Md Badsha Shaikh, second-in-command, of the human trafficking gang with fake visa, passport and foreign currency from the city’s Satarkul area of Badda on March 21. Later, they arrested Nasir, Moniruzzaman, Sajal and Nasiruddin with a huge quantity of fake visa, passport and equipment of making those.
Later on March 22, RAB personnel arrested Md Ripon and Mamun Hossain alias Bhaigna Mamun from the city Badda area and Rajib and Sohag from the city’s Bimanbandar area.
Legal action was taken to this end.
