Rape attempt: Khulna forest officer placed in police custody
A Khulna court on Thursday placed a forest official on a three-day police custody in a case filed for attempting to violate a woman at Koyra village in Koyra upazila.
Koyra upazila judicial magistrate passed the order after police produced Imdadul Haque, 50, an officer of Kashiabad Forest Station under Khulna Range, seeking seven-day for interrogation, reports UNB.
Police arrested Imdadul from his office on March 20 after the victim filed a case with Koyra Police Station under the Women and Children Repression Prevention Act, said officer-in-charge of the police station Shamser Ali.
According to the case statement, Imdadul in association with a local man, Mamun Gazi, son of Khaleq Gazi of Mathbaria village, tried to rape the housewife on March 19.
