Meeting begins to finalise national election roadmap
Dhaka: The Election Commission (EC) sat in a meeting on Tuesday morning to finalise the 11th national election roadmap drafted by the EC officials.
The meeting began at 11:00am with Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda in the chair.
"We'll finalise the roadmap today and will brief the media about it at 6pm," the CEC told reporters at about 2:00pm.
Earlier, EC officials drafted the roadmap incorporating 23 agenda, including arrangement of dialogues with EC's stakeholders, electoral law reform, delimitation of constituency, arrangement of elections to six city corporations - Rangpur, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barisal, Sylhet and Gazipur-before the next parliamentary elections and update of the country's voter list.
The 11th general election is likely to be held in late December 2018 or early January 2019.
