Khaleda Zia greets Muslims as Ramadan begins Sunday
Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Saturday greeted the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Ramadan, and prayed for peace and justice in society.
In a message on her Twitter account, Khaleda said, "As the holy month of Ramadan comes with its blessings, let us pray so that truth, fairness, justice & righteousness may prevail over evil."
Besides, the BNP chief issued a message urging all to take lessons from the teaching of Ramadan to stay away from greed, conflict, jealousy and injustice.
"It's the duty of all Muslims to try to maintain peace in society shunning injustice, envy, vengeance and violence," she said.
BNP chairpersons' media wing member Shamsuddin Didar said Khaleda will take iftar with orphans and alem-uleam on the first day of Ramadan.
She will host the iftar party at the city's Ladies Club.
