Two Bangladeshis killed in BSF firing
Jhenidah: Two Bangladeshi nationals were shot dead by Indian Border Security Force (BSF) members along Khosalpur border in Mohespur upazila on Tuesday.
The deceased were Harun, 25, son of Kawser Ali of Shyamkur village in Mohespur upazila, and Sohel Tarafdar, 20, son of Shahidul Tarafdar of Khoshalpur village in the same upazila.
Commanding officer of Moheshpur BGB Battalion-58 Lt Col Zillur Rahman said the BSF troops of Kumari camp in India opened fire on a group of 10-12 Bangladeshi cattle traders at about 11:00am when they went to the bordering area to bring cattle, leaving Harun and Sohel dead on the spot.
However, other traders managed to flee.
Later, the BSF members took away the bodies to their camp.
The BGB authorities are taking preparation to hold a flag meeting with BSF over the matter, Zillur Rahman added.
