2 outlawed party activists held
Chuadanga: Detectives arrested two activists of Biplobi Communist Party (BCP), an outlawed party, along with a shutter gun, four live bombs and one round of bullet from Takpara area on the Gholdari-Madhupur Road in Alamdanga upazila in Chuadange in the early hours of Sunday.
The arrestees are Shamsul and Dalim Biswas, both of
whom used to belong to outlawed BCP.
The Chuadanga Detective Branch said they conducted a drive in the area and arrested the duo while a group of the party members, including them, were allegedly holding a secret meeting there at about 12:45am.
The other members of the outlawed party managed to flee the spot, said police.
The law enforcers also recovered a shutter gun, four live bombs and one round of bullet from the spot.
The arrestees were wanted in several cases, including for murder, abduction and extortion, added police.
