Bangladesh gets Global Inclusion Award
Dhaka: Bangladesh has achieved 'Global Inclusion Award 2017' under the category of Global Money Week Award for its central bank's sustainable and innovative financial inclusion and financial education initiatives.
Bangladesh Bank (BB) Deputy Governor SK Sur Chowdhury received the prestigious accolade in a colorful and exalted ceremony held on May 3 at Berlin in Germany, said a BB press release on Thursday.
Bangladesh has won the award by competing with 19 countries from five regions which were finalists.
The award has been given to BB for its sustainable and innovative financial inclusion and financial education initiatives, the release said.
Daffodil International University and JobsBD have also been recognised along with Bangladesh Bank in the award.
The Global Inclusion Awards 2017, a Child and Youth Financial Inclusion (CYFI) initiative, recognises and honors those who achieve greatness and demonstrate innovation in financial, social and livelihoods education, financial inclusion, and entrepreneurial support for children and youth at the national, regional and international level.
