Priyanka Chopra lost 10 big films as she said no to sexual harassment
After being crowned Miss World in 2000, Priyanka Chopra entered Bollywood with the film, Hero: Love Story of a Spy, starring Sunny Deol and Preity Zinta.
Now, she is one of the most sought-after actresses with over 40 films, along with a Hollywood film and an immensely successful TV show. However, she could have had 10 more, which she rejected, owing to issues with a reputed director.
Her mother, Madhu Chopra told Deccan Chronicle, ‘A designer told her that the director’s brief was to dress her in itsy-bitsy clothes. The director had said, ‘What is the point of having a Miss World in front of the camera if we cannot show her as her beautiful self?’ Priyanka refused to do the film.’
Chopra said that Priyanka had to pay a hefty price, but she remained firm on her decision. ‘It was being helmed by a reputed director and he got upset. Priyanka lost 10 films because she walked out of that project.’
Priyanka recently addressed the burning problem of sexual harassment at work, after the allegations against American producer Harvey Weinstein. She said that Harvey Weinsteins are everywhere, reports the India Today.
