It is said and almost proved that social media can do wonders. Recently, a Bangla song rendered by a young male musician has made a lot of buzz at least on YouTube and social media in Bangladesh, particularly on Facebook, for its being re-rendered in various versions i.e. female version, child version etc.
Let’s come to the point.
Titled ‘Oporadhi’, the song has been penned, tuned and rendered by Arman Alif while Ankur Mahamud is the music director. A music video featuring the song was released on YouTube on April 26 this year. Since then, the video has been viewed over 35 million times on YouTube, which has made it arguably the most viewed music video on the platform.
The song is about a lovelorn young man yearning for his beloved and accusing her for leaving him despite his various sacrifices for her.
Here is the video:
However, an independent singer, a young girl, recently revised the lyrics — with the tone and tune similar to the original one — from a girl’s viewpoint that has made it as if a girl mourning and accusing her love interest for his betrayal.
The singer, Tumpa Khan Sumi, published her version of the song on her YouTube channel on 26 May. And, guess what...the song has gained immense popularity as the music lovers have loved the song and shared it on social media.
Here is her version:
After that many people have been making covers of both the versions — male and female — and posting it on their Facebook.
Here is a young boy rendering the male version:
