IGCC to host Hindustani classical music evening Saturday
The Indira Gandhi Culture Centre (IGCC) will host an evening of Hindustani classical music with eminent classical vocalist of Bangladesh Anil Kumar Saha in Dhaka on Saturday.
The event will be held at Sufia Kamal auditorium, Bangladesh National Museum at 6:00pm. Entry is open to all, according to a press release.
Anil Kumar Saha learnt Hindustani classical music in India under Ustad A Daud Khan, one of the greatest vocalists of Kirana Gharana.
Saha completed his Sangeet Vibhakar (Bachelor in Music) and Sangeet Ratna (Master in Music) degrees from Bangiya Sangeet Parishad, Kolkata, which is affiliated to Rabindra Bharati University.
On invitation from Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR), government of India, he performed in Delhi, Chandigarh and Himachal Pradesh in October 2014.
