Patients suffer as doctors stop services in Rajshahi pvt hospitals, clinics
Rajshahi: Doctors here on Saturday stopped providing all sorts of healthcare services in private hospitals, clinics and diagnostic centres protesting ‘assault’ on a fellow over the death of a child due to alleged wrong treatment.
Physicians also refrained from seeing patients in their private chambers.
Bangladesh Medical Association (BMA) Rajshahi unit and private clinic owners took the decision after a meeting.
Earlier on Thursday, minor boy Rafi died when he was being taken to a hospital from Popular Diagnostic Centre. His family members got furious following his death and returned to the diagnostic center. They staged demonstrations against the doctors for their ‘mistreatment’.
