Bangladesh play draw against Cricket South Africa Invitation XI

Dhaka: The Tigers were up-bit against Cricket South Africa Invitation XI in the three-day tour match which ended in draw at Willowmoore Park, Benoni on Saturday.

Having 306/7-dec in the 1st innings, Bangladesh resumed the 2nd innings on the final day with overnight score of 6/0 in 3 overs and declared the innings at 235/9-d in 63 overs.

Sabbir Rahman (67 off 98b; 8x4) and overnight opening batsman Imrul Kayes (51off 54b; 7x4; 1x6) hit a half century each.

Mominul Haque (33), Mahmudullah Riyad (15), Taskin Ahmed (15*), Taijul Islam (14) and Mehedi Hasan Miraz (14) were the other double digit scorers in the 2nd innings for Bangladesh.

Shaun von Berg captured four for 77 while Leus du Plooy bagged two for 51 runs.

Michael Cohen, Tladi Bokako and Migael Pretorius took one wicket each for Invitation XI the side scored 318/8-dec in 91 overs in the 1st innings which ended on the 2nd day.

The Tigers are now on a tour of South Africa to play two Tests, three ODIs and two T20Is, against the home side.

The first Test (September 28- October 2) will be held at Senwes Park in Potchefstroom, while the 2nd Test (October 6-10) at Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein.

After the Test series, Bangladesh will play ODIs on October 15, 18 and 22 respectively while T20Is on October 26 and 29 against the hosts.
