Bangladesh U-19 start World Cup with comprehensive win
Bangladesh U19 started their ICC U19 Cricket World Cup 2018 with a comfortable 87-run victory over Namibia U19. Due to rain, match was reduced to 20 overs.
Winning the toss, Namibia U19 opted to bowl first at Lincoln. Pinak Ghash gave an flying start with his knock of 26.
Then skipper Saif Hassan and Naim Sheikh added 97 runs in the second wicket partnership. Saif was dismissed after scoring 84 off just 48 balls.
Other half-centurian Naim scored 60 off 43 balls. After 20 overs, Bangladesh U19 managed to post 190 for 4. Nell, Burger, Fouche and Shikongo shared one wicket each, reports BCB.
In reply Hasan Mahmud and Onik Islam put Namibia U19 in trouble by picking up couple of early wickets. Eben van Wyk tried but his effort was not enough as the young Tigers restricted Namibia U19 to 103 for 5 in 20 overs. Hasan Mahmud and Onik Islam both claimed two wickets each. Saif Hassan was named man of the match for his match-winning knock.
