BCB honours Tamim, Mushfiq to reach 10,000-run club

Dhaka: Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) honoured two Bangladeshi cricketers—opening batsman Tamim Iqbal and wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim with special crest and blazer to mark their feat of crossing the 10,000 runs in international cricket across all three formats of the game.
Mushfiqur Rahim reached the landmark of 10,000 runs as the 3rd Bangladeshi cricketer scoring 10,313 runs featuring country’s individual best 219 runs not out in the first innings on way to their comfortable 218-run victory over touring Zimbabwe in the 2nd and last Test in Dhaka to level the series 1-1, reports the UNB.
Earlier, two celebrated cricketers of the country--dashing opener Tamim Iqbal (11,941 runs) and world famed all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan (10,542 runs) -- reached landmark of 10,000 runs.
BCB President Nazmul Hasan Papon MP honored Tamim and Mushfiq with specially made BCB crest during closing ceremony of the Dhaka Test Thursday afternoon.
Former national captain cum BCB Director Akram Khan, who is also the Chairman of the Cricket Operation Committee, honored them with special BCB blazers in white.
The recognition for Shakib Al Hasan remains pending as the country’s celebrated all-rounder was not present on the occasion.
Tamim (11,941) has scored 4049 runs playing 108 innings of 56 Tests with eight century and 25 half centuries, 6307 runs in 181 innings of 183 ODIs featuring eleven tons and 42 fifties and 1585 runs in 72 T20I with one century and six half century.
Shakib (10,542) has contributed 3692 runs in 100 innings of 53 Tests featuring five centuries and 23 half centuries, 5482 runs in the 181 runs innings of 192 ODIs with seven centuries and 39 half centuries and 1368 runs playing 69 T201 with seven fifties.
Mushfiq (10,313) has scored 3969 runs in 120 innings of 64 Tests making six centuries and 19 half centuries, made 5213 runs in 181 innings of 195 ODIs featuring six tons and 30 half centuries and contributed 1131 runs in 66 innings of 74 T20I making four fifties.
