Dhaka: Dhaka Abahani Limited conceded 0-2 goals defeat against Maziya Sports & Recreation Club in their away Group E match of the AFC Cup Football in Male, Maldives on Wednesday.

Mohamed Umair and Aleksandar Rakic scored for the Maldives Club a 2-0 win over Bangladesh's Abahani Limited. The Maldives Club also beat Abahani Limited by same margin in their away match in Dhaka.

The hosts dominated the first half in the Maldivian capital Male but were unable to make a breakthrough until just before the hour mark when Umair's lofted free-kick from the left evaded defenders and attackers alike to float past Abahani goalkeeper Shaidul Sohel.

Maziya should have doubled their lead with seven minutes remaining when Rakic charged onto Ali Ashadh's cutback and walloped a rising shot onto the underside of the bar. The ball ricocheted out to the onrushing Mohamed Niyaz but his stabbed effort drew a stunning recovery save from Sohel.

Rakic did not have to wait long for his second chance, though as just a minute later he put the game beyond the visitors. Niyaz was again denied by Sohel after he was sent through on goal but this time the rebound fell kindly to the Serbian and he volleyed home into the empty net.
