Malaysian wives celebrate bonding with Bangladeshis
Malaysia: ‘KELAB isteri’ (KIB), an organisation of Malaysian wives of Bangladesh men has recently organised a gala dinner following a cultural function on 5 December.
The grand event kicked off at about 7:00pm at the Hotel Grand Continental in Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur.
Bangladesh High Commission in Kuala Lumpur first secretary SK Shahin, labour wing Shahida Sultana, journalists, traders were present in the gala dinner.
Hosted by KELAB isteri convenor Sasha, KIB entrepreneur Shuchi, business personality Datu Kamal, engineer Badrul Rahman Khan addressed the programme.
The Malaysian wives dressed in Bangladeshi attires, saree, salwar kamiz suits, while their spouses were in traditional Panjabis.
The colourful event started with a chorus of Malaysia and Bangladesh national anthems.
The Malaysian wives were also termed as ‘iron lady’ during the event. Kuala Lumpur High Commission first secretary SK Shahin and labour wing Shahida Sultana handed over the ‘iron lady’ award plaques to 26 Malaysian wives.
The Bangladesh envoys expressed their gratitude to the KELAB isteri members for arranging the magnificent function.
The children of the Malaysian and Bangladeshi couples walked on the ramp to exhibit the culture of both countries. The artistes of Bangladesh and Malaysia rendered songs and performed dances to entertain the guests.
The occasion merged Bangladeshi culture with the Malaysian ones, thus developed the intimacy between the people of the countries.
KELAB isteri’ or KIB — means ‘cute wife’ in English — is an organisation of Malaysian wives of the Bangladeshis, which was formed in 2014.
