In a most unfortunate incident which has come to light from the city of Mumbai in India, a 13-year-old girl collapsed while in the middle of a dance performance during an event. The girl who has been identified as Aneesha Sharma, a student of Class 7, was rushed to a nearby hospital where she was declared dead upon arrival.

A video of the incident shows the girl performing on stage during the program, CM Chashak, organised in the city’s Kandivali area. Reports suggest that the program was organised by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) corporator Kamlesh Yadav. In the video, the girl can be seen performing a dance on stage before collapsing. She was taken to the Trident hospital where doctors declared her dead, reports timesnownews.com.

In a statement he gave to media personnel, the organizer said that participants from different schools were invited to participate in the event where teachers had accompanied them. The program began at 5 pm and the participant who was to perform at number three was taking a little too much time to get ready and so this girl volunteered to go first, he said. ‘However, after dancing for about ten seconds, she collapsed,’ he added.
