MC College students asked to vacate dormitories
Sylhet: The authorities of MC College in Sylhet have asked the students to vacate their dormitories by 6:00pm on Thursday.
The decision came following a clash between two factions of ruling party’s student wing Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL).
Earlier in the day, the supporters of Titu-Dimon and Hossain-Delwar had been at loggerheads over establishing supremacy in the college.
As a sequel, both groups attacked each other at the college hostel. A scuffle took place among them on Thursday morning near the campus.
During the clash, the activists of BCL also vandalised the windowpanes and doors of 8 to 10 rooms of the hostel.
Akter Hossain, officer-in-charge of Shah Paran Police Station, said additional police have been deployed on the campus to avert any kind of untoward situation.
The clash later led the authorities to vacate the dormitories of the college.
