Commonwealth Summit in London on April 16-20

Dhaka: The Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting 2018 (CHOGM) will be held in London and Windsor on April 16-20.
The meeting will cement the shared aims of good governance, sustainable growth, and inclusive social and economic development, according to the Commonwealth headquarters, reports the UNB.
The Commonwealth leaders will come together to reaffirm their common values, address the shared global challenges they face and agree how to work to create a better future for all citizens, particularly the young people, it said.
The Commonwealth is a diverse community of 53 nations that work together to promote prosperity, democracy and peace.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to attend the meeting during which she is likely to hold meetings with a number of leaders on the sidelines.
Asked whether there will be any meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a diplomat said it is too early to make comment.
Another source said there is a possibility to see a meeting between the Prime Minister and her Indian counterpart.
On March 28, Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval attended the Bimstec national security chiefs’ meeting.
Meanwhile, Indian Foreign Secretary Vijay Keshav Gokhale is likely to be here in the second week of April.
He will attend an event on Bangladesh-India relations on April 9 to be held with Prime Minister’s International Affairs Adviser Dr Gowher Rizvi as the chief guest in the city, an official told UNB.
