GP to launch free Wifi for its customers

Dhaka: Grameenphone has taken an initiative to introduce high speed Free Wi-Fi Internet service for its customers nationwide.
By 2015, the company has an ambition to bring at least 30 important locations in the country under its’ WiFi umbrella. Initially, it will be a pilot project, and only Grameenphone customers will get access to the service at free of cost for the first three months.
This effort is part of Grameenphone’s ‘Internet for All’ ambition where it aims to bring more and more people under the light of internet, said a press release on Monday.
To provide best customer experience, Grameenphone has also spanned its network all over the country and this countrywide expansion of its 3G network is moving at a rapid pace. It is using this strong network as the basis for all the attractive internet offers.
In the Wi-Fi hotspots, Grameenphone customers will see a Wi-Fi SSID named “GP WiFi” in the Wi-Fi option on their devices; after connecting to the GP Wi-Fi SSID customers need to register with their GP number, this generates an SMS to customers number which enables them to enjoy free Wifi service.
Aamra Networks, one of the largest ISPs in Bangladesh, will provide technical support to GP in this great initiative.
