Dhaka: It was unfair of the United States to cancel GSP facility for Bangladeshi garment products in their markets, commented Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed on Saturday.

The minister, however, expressed his hope that the US would reinstall this Generalised System of Preferences (GSP) soon.

He made the remark while speaking at the inaugural ceremony of Bangladesh International Trade and Export Fair at Chittagong’ Halishahar.

Organised by the Chittagong Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the fair was also attended by water resource minister Anisul Islam Mahmud among others.
